ICLF: Building Community on Lolland
The International Community of Lolland-Falster (ICLF) began its journey in 2021 as a Facebook group, created with the goal of connecting people across the Lolland Falster region. This initiative soon gained traction and became a vibrant community for both Danes and internationals. The group was formed with the intention of creating a space where people from different backgrounds could come together to share experiences, ideas, and support one another in their daily lives.
In 2022, three dedicated women, Summer Juul Andersen, Nina Hüper, and Graciela Dahl Olsen, took the reins of this growing community. They transitioned the Facebook group into a formal association, solidifying its role as an important part of the local social landscape. Under new leadership, ICLF has expanded rapidly, growing from around 300 members to over 1,400 members on their Facebook group and page.
One of the key goals of ICLF is to host regular events that encourage interaction and foster a sense of belonging. Every month, the association organizes potluck dinners and other fun gatherings that invite both locals and internationals to participate. These events create an opportunity for members to connect, share cultures, and build lasting friendships.
ICLF continues to thrive, thanks to the dedication of its leaders and the support of its members. The association’s growth is a testament to the power of community and the desire for connection. Whether through cultural exchange, fun events, or empowerment initiatives, ICLF is making a real difference in the lives of people on Lolland.
